Bring out the pompoms!
Eric Hoffer:
Kindness can become its own motive. We are made kind by being kind.
Frederick W. Faber:
Kindness has converted more sinners than zeal, eloquence or learning.
Goethe:
Kindness is the golden chain by which society is bound together.
HH the Dalai Lama:
When we feel love and kindness toward others, it not only makes others feel loved and cared for, but it helps us also to develop inner happiness and peace.
Good and not so good points of my weekend till now… or rather since the last time I posted…
Thursday afternoon was spent at Toa Payoh with TKM and YKM.
Ate at Sizzler and then went to the library… evening spent at tuition… heh
Was supposed to go to tuition on Friday evening but could not make it due to my first day of relief teaching at a particular primary school.
My first stab at relief teaching!
-psychotic laughter-
I took the same Primary 1 class for most of the day.
Spent most of the day trying to get them to listen to my instructions. Not easy ok! They sent most of their time running up and down complaining to me about their classmates and doing the stuff, which all small kids like to do… talk, talk, talk, talk, talk, talk and SCREAM.
Had to nurse my ears, throat and feet at the end of the day.
You just try taking a class of 31 students, one who is partially deaf, one who is the principal’s son and one who is an exchange student from Hong Kong.
Add to that the fact that you do not usually wear high heels and that you will be forced to spend at least 6 hours in those 3 inches of pain.
How would you fair?
You tell me…
Hahahaha… and hor, I was already falling sick as of that morning… so that day kinda made matters worse for my body. -.-lll
For all the problems, it was fun teaching the kids (when they did decide to listen to me.)
I look forward to going back to that school… hopefully I will not have to teach the same class of kids… hahah~
Saturday morning had meeting at GEC regarding the BCM vision for 2007. From there I rushed down to Whampoa NTC for the STF AGM.
Two meetings in one day.
Not bad aye? ;)
Very tired at the end of the day man… the coughing got worse and so did the dripping/blockage of my nose… headaches and phlegm … bleah~
The only thing that was nice to watch on telly that night was: Bollywood/Hollywood.
Still remember the last time I watched it. It was shown on Ch5 right before Bride and prejudice cam out on the big screen… hahah… damn funny and the weirdest thing about it is that it was directed by a non-Indian… haha… oh! The male and female leads were very good looking as well… not to forget the Raul’s Bollywood friend!
He was swoon-worthy! :D
“Bollywood! Hollywood! Different tree, same wood!”
-hysterical laughter-
Woke up at 5.55am in order to get ready for the day ahead on Sunday.
Met part of the Kovan team at Kovan McD at 6.50am for breakfast.
Alfred, Sotong, Aaron and Shih Han were all there before me.
We made our way to Whampoa and reached there before 8.30am… got everything ready and set the show on the road.
My last minute team for Senior Green-blue was made up of: Jill, Serene a.k.a. Qiu Mei and Chi Foong.
We did pretty darn good for the amount of time we spent practicing… we got bronze in the end… hehe…
The Kovan contingent did very well for themselves!
5 teams in total:
Junior Yellow: Brian, Scott, Jolynn and Zac.
(Jane could not make it at the last minute)
They got Silver :)
Which is especially sweet for me because I coached them on my own and they beat the Whampoa team… into the ground! Woohoo~
Junior Green-blue: William, Victor, Punithan.
(Sri did not turn up …grrr…)
Bronze for them… grrr…they could have done better!
Youth Yellow: Pui Cheng, Aaron, Shih Han and Ding Han.
GOLD!!!!!
WOoHOOO~~
Alfred and myself trained them.
Most of the credit goes to Alfred. He got them hyped up and ready for the actually day. I handled the initial teaching phase. We’re really proud of them coz Ding Han was the only one doing his own pattern, the other 3 are new white belts who had to learn the pattern in less than 2 weeks.
Power right?!~
Youth Green: Dan, Ding Qi, Woei Jun and Melissa.
GOLD!!!!! Hehe~
They did their own thing, can say they were rather self sufficient and they did go to the right people when they needed help with certain things.
Just hope it doesn’t go to their heads… I honestly think they could have done better… but the trophy is a good moral booster :)
Youth Blue-brown: Hui Fen, Eileen, Chin yu and Chin Zhen.
Silver.
These 4 got the gold in the same category last year… I guess it boils down to preparation… hehe
Kovan was named overall champion for the Youth Category :D
WELL DONE TEAM!!!!!
-bounces all over the place with pompoms-
WOOHooOO~~!!!!
MSN nick before the tournament:
Slave driver?
MSN nick after the tournament:
Successful slave driving beats the Whampoa team into the ground!~
After the whole tournament ended (which was around 2pm), Alfred and I lugged the extra trophies to NTC to help out with the weigh-in and registration. The whole thing lasted until around 5.20pm.
Lug the stuff again we did to Kovan CC to present them with their trophies. And then we made for McD to have dinner.
Coming full circle ya?
We start and end the say at McD. ;p
It could have finished there, but we went back to the CC to get some recording done. Namely Koyro and Kuemgang Poomsae. Pown-age!
By the time I got home, I was half-dead and fried from all the activities. Let not forget that I was now even sicker from the lack of rest and all that running about.
The rest of the evening was spent staring at the computer… headache in the end… hahah
Went to the doc this morning.
Was prescribed the same medication as the one of my previous visits… I keep wondering why I am constantly falling sick… haiyo… holidays leh… aiyoyo…
Now kanna confined to the house and can not go out for donno how long… at least I will get to have my rest… have to sleep, sleep, sleep… hahaha~
Shall have to handle whatever admin work I have to complete from the house.
Was supposed to go for my dental appointment but on the doc’s orders, I had to cancel the visit and will have to book a slot another day. -.-lll
So there… that’s the sum up for now… charging at the books and pillows be the agenda for the rest of the afternoon!
Cheers peeps!
^-^
